responsible business
At From Y to Z, every decision—from how our pieces are made to how they reach you—is carefully considered and reflects our commitment to protecting children, people, and the world they will inherit.
Manufacturing
We partner exclusively with BSCI-compliant factories in China, ensuring ethical and responsible practices across our supply chain, because the people behind the clothes matter just as much as the kids wearing them.
BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) is a globally recognised framework that helps factories provide good working conditions.
This looks like:
- No child or forced labour
- Fair wages
- Reasonable hours
- Safe working conditions
- Freedom to join unions
BSCI-compliant factories are regularly audited and assessed by independent third parties. They are required to maintain/continually improve their practices to obtain certification.
Materials
We use natural fibres wherever possible. They're softer and gentler on both skin and the environment (compared to man-made fibres).
In the rare instance man-made fibers are used, we aim to avoid synthetic blends as these are much more difficult to recycle at the end of the garments life.
Sustainability
We create small-batch clothing so that we only produce what’s needed, nothing more.
To further minimise our carbon footprint, we choose sea freight over air whenever possible and skip all unnecessary packaging.
Our garments leave the factory without polybags, packed in cardboard grid boxes, and we send your orders in compostable mailers, without the fuss and faff of swing tags, tissue paper, and extras that all end up in the bin anyway.
Conscious Design
Our oversized fits, timeless silhouettes, and easy layering mean pieces stay relevant beyond a single season, helping families shift away from fast, disposable clothing towards more thoughtful, circular consumption.
Faceless Marketing
We’re big on protecting kids, especially online. That’s why all of our marketing is face-free. That means no recognisable children’s faces in any of our campaigns, social media content, or advertising.
Their privacy and autonomy comes first, and we don’t need to reveal their identities to showcase our garments. It’s a small choice that feels like the right one for the ones we’re doing this all for.
Responsible business is an ongoing commitment, not an end point. Our goal is progress over perfection.
